Based on Bluedouble's characters, Randi and the unnamed hare.
>When the ice cream didn't put a smile on her face, Harrison knew it was bad.
>He'd never seen Randi this sick before.
>He'd never seen her sick period.
>Randi was the type that pushed through anything--the kind of mammal that could convince themself that a fever of 102 was "just allergies."
>In the dead of winter.
>And yet, Randi insisted that she still had to work.
>"You're not going to lure me away with rocky road," she sniffled from behind her laptop.
>The couch had become a maze of crumpled, wet tissues.
>Harrison navigated the diseased minefield carefully, slumping down beside her.
>Randi retracted into the blanket.
>"Don't. You'll get sick," she croaked.
>Harrison's ears flicked up.
>"Oh, so NOW you admit you're sick."
>Randi glared.
>"Come oooon, Reyrey." He reached up towards her ruffled cheeks, only to have his paw slapped away.
>"I'll bite you."
>"Just the way I like it?" He wriggled his eyebrows.
>Randi's stone-like composure didn't waver.
>"I kid."
>"Mhmm."
>Harrison slowly lifted the blanket.
>"Get out of here. I'm trying to write. Jerk."
>The hare wrestled his way in, despite her best efforts, ending up in her lap.
>He tugged the blanket tight around the both of them, scooching up against her chest.
>Even with the covering and her pajamas, he could feel how cold she was.
>Her muscles spasmed as she tried to suppress her shivering.
>Randi's head hung as the hare clung to her.
>"Mmf, you're warm. It's like a little furnace."
>Craning his neck, he nibbled at the fur along her neck.
>"That's me, baby. The living household appliance."
>She snorted, the sound barely escaping her blocked nose.
>"What about the ice cream?" she asked.
>Harrison shook his head.
>"Let it melt. I'm too comfy where I'm at."
