Source: https://boards.fireden.net/vg/thread/239534296/#239536291 --------- This character predates my becoming a big Sonic fan, so her initial conception was just based on the fact that for one of my sisters, I would always "assign" her the happy pure-hearted girl archetype from any cartoon I liked. I always associated the people around me with the fictional characters I saw on TV and stuff, and I had a pattern of sorts I usually followed. For this specific sister of mine, I would always give her the character that was >A girl >Had stereotypical girl-character qualities, usually associated with the color "pink" and being pure-hearted and nice, or whatever Or at least the closest equivalent. So when I initially created the character based on her, the character was more-so based on the archetype than my actual sister's personality, so I drew a girl that looked like a younger Ariel the Little Mermaid, in a pink T-shirt with a red heart symbol, light blue pants that stop at the ankles, and white shoes with pink stripes and socks. Her powers were "heart", "love" and "light", and her personality was just being a pure-hearted girl incapable of feeling any negative emotions. That's what the character was like already before I injected "Sonic" into my project. When that happened, she became the Amy of the project (because duh), and so Amy Rose has become a defining source of inspiration for her ever since. Pink was already her main color, because duh, so naturally she became a pink hedgehog like Amy. My sister and my Sonic friend have always had this weird... something between them, although they've never dated and she currently has a boyfriend (and she and my Sonic friend live in separate states), so her character has pretty much become the official designated love interest for my Sonic friend's character, which just reflects back on her character archetype anyway, as well as the whole "Amy" thing.
