I may not enjoy MLP, but I couldn't help but approve at the quality of this manip. I like the spiral effect.

My true ignorance in computer graphics is showing, but I must ask: is there some clever trick to getting a spiral that collapses into itself like that, or did you do it manually?

I used a line-in-the-middle gradient (white line on black background) and then did a swirl distortion on it. basically like taking a cord and attaching the middle of it to a power drill. I normally use a guideline to make sure the thing is perfectly centered, but this time I was being lazy, which is why it doesn't converge exactly at the center.

Ah, I see. Thanks for answering! I was honestly still wondering how you did it.

I like the effect, so I want to use it myself, some time.
