RL venting thread
So. Today I found out that my work need me to work at a location 38 miles further away from me than my present location with 2 days notice.

This being the same month that my wife gave up working to focus herself on art full time.

As of this moment there's no money in the move (though I'm appealing for a raise to go with it) and the time and gas will be... draining.

I've been in shock all day and I don't even know how to react. Just wanted to vent, I guess.

So. Thread is for that now.

Ouch...
I'd tell them to up the pay, or at least cover gas, or I'll quit. Granted, in your situation, I can see why that's an issue.

I'd start looking for another job. Hell, even with a lower paying one, you may end up on top due to the difference in gas/transportation costs alone.

I agree with Vanndril. Maybe you can get your unemployment benefits and live off that until you get another job? (don't know how this works in other countries).
