(Hornofdesolation) Contrary to what seems to be some people's popular belief on this site there is a video game in the Super Mario Bros. series named Super Mario Bros. Unless you can prove that the picture your posting actually took place in a context related to that game you all should add the series addition to the Super Mario Bros. tag.

I'm a little torn on this one.
On one hand, you're right. Plain and simple.
On the other, no other booru, as far as the major ones, use that _(series) addition to that tag, which is usually what people search by and thus usually what we go by.
I think, rather than making an official decision on this one, I'll just let the community do what it will do, and a decision will just...happen, eventually. Or Mindwipe will chime in. One or the other. XD

Generally speaking, the only time we use the (series) tag is when it shares its name with a character. It would seem a touch silly to start tagging Zelda pics as "The Legend of Zelda" (Series)" because the first game was called, well, "The Legend of Zelda," because we're not tagging them by the individual games.
Also, as Vanndril said, most people are going to search "Super Mario Bros." It's simpler that way.

What Vorp said. If you wanna be specific, and state which Super Mario game a pic is from (this pic already has a "paper_mario_(series)" tag) you can add one. I've used "skyward_sword" and "twilight_princess" on a few Zelda pics. I suppose if the pic is actually from the first Super Mario game, you could use "super_mario_bros._(game)".
